Chad Sayers Update - Ski trips galore
I’ve been skiing in the Alps for the last month now… Mostly exploring the magical landscapes of the Chamonix valley in all different types of conditions with ski partner and photographer Daniel Ronnback, working a few short films as well shooting photos along the way.
It’s been a beautiful time to be here!!!! Though the avalanche conditions have been very challenging for all who are seeking adventure in the mountains this winter.
Perhaps the best thing and most mindful way to approach the days out is to be completely humbled and respectful to the mountains for having us and stay in tune with one’s intuition so that we can come home at the end of the day smiling and celebrate such a unique way of life.
It’s hard not to think of great friends that have passed away this past year who have been iconic role models for a lot of skiers and climbers here in the Chamonix valley and around the world. It is the life though; as we will all lose people we love and admire!
I have also had some great side trips to la Grave, Englerberg and Verbier this season.
Looking forward to a trip coming up in Scotland in March, exploring the highlands and local ski resorts in the country for a feature in Ski Journal.
To follow up, I’ll be heading out with a couple of friends on an early spring ski mountaineering expedition for 3 weeks to the Republic of Georgia to hopefully climb and ski Mt Shkhara (5068m)…. it will be an amazing journey for sure!!!
Thx to John and the crew at NEH for being apart of my winter and ski adventures!!
