This is why the age-old vertical guarantee of 30,300 vertical meters per week (100,000 vertical feet) that the helicopter ski industry has used for years just isn't sufficient anymore.

Northern Escape Heli Skiing is proud to offer Unlimited Vertical for all its Yellow Cedar Lodge and Mountain Lodge packages. Unlimited Vertical is already included in our Skeena Spey Private packages. Ski as much as your legs will allow, there are never any extra vertical charges.

But let’s take a step back.

What is “Vertical” and what makes it an important consideration when choosing a Heli Skiing package?

Vertical is simply a measurement of the elevation change in meters, or feet for our friends south of the boarder, between the landing at the top of a run and the pick-up at the bottom of a run. Average runs here at Northern Escape are 800 to 1000 vertical meters (2,600 to 3,300 vertical feet). On an average day you may ski/ride 8,000 vertical meters (26,400 vertical feet).

The industry norm since heli skiing began has been to guarantee 30,300 verticals meters (100,000 vertical feet) per week. When you skied more, and most did, you paid more, or you had to make the difficult decision to start going back early or even sitting out a full day at the lodge while your friends kept racking up the vertical in that bottomless powder you’d been dreaming of all your life…

Unlimited Vertical simply now allows you to ski as much as you’d like without all the hassle and worry of counting vertical and balancing your budget.

So, you can enjoy every vertical meter of every run. The powder may be bottomless, but for most of us, our pocketbooks are not. Now, you can just keep on enjoying—worry-free.
